Pastors Edward & Selina

Pastors: Edward & Selina Lim

Edward was raised by godly parents and grew up in a Brethren church, where he had a strong foundation of the Word. He received his calling into full time ministry when he was 17 years of age and God prepared him for some years through tent-making and equipped him in Global Literature Outreach (GLO), Tasmania, Australia and received his Bachelor of Theology in Malaysia Baptist Theological Seminary. He served in 3 different churches as Youth and Worship Pastor in the span of 15 years before God revealed His heart and vision of Gateway City Church.

This visionary leader coupled with a radical faith constantly challenges people to rise up to their optimum potential to make God famous. This dynamic and active man has a deep passion for sports. He also pioneered Floorball in 2002 in Penang and grew this sport to the national level. He coaches both the state and national team, and is also a representative in the Asia Pacific Floorball Association Development Committee.

Edward ministers together with his wife, Selina, whom was a State Registered Nurse before she received her full-time calling into ministry. She met the Lord as a young nurse and He has opened her eyes to His deep love and fulfillment in Christ Jesus as she served the sick. She is also trained in Early Childhood Education for her call as a mother and primary teacher to her offspring besides having pursued some courses in the same seminary as Edward. Her passion includes teaching, intercession, dance and turning hearts towards homes. They homeschool their 3 daughters – Ashlynn, Nathalynn, Chrisalynn and a son, Ashton. As a family they seek to raise a radical generation to serve God’s purposes in this nation and beyond.

Christopher Koh

Gateway Sports Network (GSN) Director: Christopher Koh

Christopher hails from Kuala Lumpur. Growing up in a Brethren church in Petaling Jaya, he first came to Penang in 2005 by God’s divine appointment to further his studies in University Sains Malaysia (USM), Penang. In the course of his university life, he was introduced to Floorball. Little did he know that God was slowly but surely planting a big vision in his spirit and heart through this unique sport.

Upon completing his degree in USM, he felt a burden to stay on in Penang to seek what God has in store for him. God continued to equip him in the next few years through secular work as an English lecturer and also in ministry, serving in the area of sports and worship as preparation for the task ahead. In late 2009, Gateway Sports Network (GSN), the sports ministry arm of Gateway City Church was formed after much prayer and planning.

He is now currently serving full time as the Sports Director of GSN. His heart is to build champions in the lives that he connects with through the medium of sports. He continuously challenges people to be the complete champion that God has designed them to be, not just when they are on court but even out of court. He yearns to win back the sports sphere for His kingdom purposes by being an instrument to coach, train and empower others to rise up as champions.
